Clicking on links that people send you can became a negative experience by considering malicious software and hijacked accounts.
Twitter is trying to prevent such bad experiences by checking and sometimes rewriting the in the email notification included links.
Twitter is launching a new service to protect users against phishing and other malicious attacks. By routing all links submitted to twitter through this new service, Twitter is able to prevent the spread of bad links.
This feature works behind the scenes and will not be noticed by you. The only point you can see them when they are shortened to twt.tl within you DMs and notifications.
This attempt of Twitter to make it a much safer environment is in about everybody’s best interests. And also in the interest of marketers who use Twitter for business.
To keep it a clean and trusted place is essential to keep up using twitter for business.

Today I have read a blog post of David Meerman Scott how he has been approached by AA (American Airlines) online by email marketing.
To keep a long story short, they approached him the totally wrong way. They did not take into account his member status and nothing about his membership at all, even they had all the information needed to personalize this (opt in) email campaign down to the size of his shoes, theoretically. But they did not!
AA took the short and easy way and did not leverage the information they had from him an s valued long year customer.
Instead of this they pitched him with an unpersonal dump email and indirectly showed him that he is not valued by them.
Today you can segment customers with email systems out there which are able to personalize a campaign down to the size of your shoes.
I think they simply did not care that there are differences in email marketing. And to do it right, they have to have a deeper understanding what email marketing is and how to use it. This takes effort which they did not invested this time.
I am looking forward to read from their next attempt and I hope David Meerman Scott will post it as well.
I am also curious if AA monitors social media and blogs and if the next email campaign will reflect David’s blog post.
Let’s see what will happen.

For now I am about one week in Google Buzz and like some other people I don’t think that Google Buzz goes to overtake Twitter for now. Moreover I think Google Buzz will complement the social media world in a great maybe different way.
When you have accustomed that Google Buzz is making your Gmail account a little bit messy and learned to handle it than it can become a nice place to make new friends.
I hope Google will implement some administration features in the near future to make it an easier to filter and administer messages, etc…
And an old friend named SPAM appeared very quickly on Google Buzz. I have unfriend them and now I got more good buzzes into my account.
In my opinion Google Buzz is a nice tool, no Twitter replacement for now but we will see what the future brings.
I am personally very excited about it because it opens a new channel to make connections, spread information and I am curious what Google further steps are in social media?!
Happy buzzing!

In the last days I was on some forums for entrepreneurs and I discovered a repeating question: How can I drive traffic to my new business and website?
When the website link was included in the forum post I visited the said website and went through to see how it looks like, does it has a blog, Meta Tags, Keywords, etc. Some of them had no blog; some had no Meta Tags or Keywords of great advantage. Some had a hosted blog, mostly from Blogger.
What I can say is that if you like to drive traffic to you website you need to give the people a good reason to visit your website. Furthermore it can be helpful to be found where your targeted market and user base is around.
I have put together some points which you can do for free.
